When you’re juggling a thousand things and can’t decide what to do next, slow down and take it an inch at a time. It’s the little minute details – the inches – that define how successful our events and programs are. So take the time to get them right.

Dedicating today’s KIC posting to a great leader that is leaving us…and the demands on all of us to STEP UP and lead! I’ve had only 4 short months here with Elisa but her passion for all of you was noticeable immediately. It is more than a title, it comes with huge responsibility, the most important of which is representing each of you. I am very grateful for her professionalism, vision and work ethic. I admire her courage for jumping off the tracks and exploring a whole new world. One of the things I have learned about great leaders is…

Why are we doing this challenge?! We are doing this challenge because we failed (at least in some people’s eyes). We did not meet the expectations that we have placed upon ourselves. Like most people we seek recognition and validation from others as proof of our success. I say, we do not need approval and validation from anyone. Team continue to do what you have been doing and one day, they will not be able to deny us. Do not allow not winning this award to make you think that you cannot be the next Disney, Oprah, Soichiro Honda, etc……

I hope you all are enjoying your Sunday. In keeping with our company theme of taking risks a quote below which is more a way of life I find inspiring. I’m sure someone said it before him, but I hadn’t heard it until he said it so for the sake of this email the quote below is by Dion Waiters which he often references. “Bet on yourself… then double down” After a solid playoff run with the Thunder in 2016 most assumed Dion would be back with them the following season, just like life sometimes you get thrown a curve…
